Ingredients
- 1.5 oz. (45 ml) Rittenhouse 100 proof Rye Whiskey
- 1/2 oz. (15 ml) Combier Crème de Mûre
- 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) cream of coconut
- 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) semi-rich simple syrup (1.5:1 sugar:water)
- 2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Verdict
You can taste the creme de mure and the coconut, but the rest are just there to hold up those two flavors. What you have is a basic sour with some extra fluff, and all you can taste is the extra fluff. Luckily that extra fluff is very tasty.It is very intense, so you really should go for crushed ice, or let it dilute a good bit before drinking, if you don't. Possibly add some water if you don't want to crush your ice.
